The Health and Consumption Department of the Junta de Andalucía is implementing significant renovations to hospitals and health centers in Cádiz this summer, with an overall investment of approximately 2.1 million euros. Of this budget, around 1.3 million euros is specifically allocated for improvements in hospitals, while 837,718 euros will benefit various health centers across the province.

Key projects include substantial upgrades at the Hospital Universitario Puerta del Mar, which has secured 425,000 euros aimed at enhancing multiple hospitalization units. Additionally, the Hospital de San Carlos is undergoing enhancements in its surgical block, funded with 150,000 euros, with renovations commencing on July 1 and anticipated completion by September.

Eva Pajares, the territorial delegate, highlighted that these renovations are designed to significantly improve healthcare services in the region. Despite some concerns related to potential summer congestion in hospitals, the SAS has assured the public that their summer plan guarantees ongoing healthcare accessibility and support.
