The new facility will span 2,000 square meters and is expected to begin operations in the autumn of this year. While the exact number of jobs created by the center has yet to be disclosed, it is designed to be fully equipped for the design, testing, and implementation of modifications to vehicles intended for sale in the EU. This R&D center underscores Chery's commitment to expanding its presence in Spain, complemented by ongoing enhancements at its factory situated in the Zona Franca of Barcelona to meet rising demand.

Chery's efforts to bolster its European offerings come at a critical time as the company aims to better adapt its Omoda and Jaecoo models to align with local consumer preferences. As part of its localization strategy, Chery is positioning itself to compete more effectively in the European automotive market.
