DAZN Secures Kings League Broadcasting Rights for 2026, Showcasing Football's Future

DAZN has announced a strategic acquisition of the broadcasting rights for the Kings League competitions starting in 2026, marking a significant expansion of its global football portfolio. The centerpiece of this agreement is the Kings World Cup Nations 2026, which will take place in Brazil from January 3 to 17, featuring 20 national teams and approximately 250 players. This innovative tournament showcases a blend of football and digital entertainment, founded by Gerard Piqué and backed by notable figures such as Ronaldo Nazário as tournament president, with star captains including Robert Lewandowski, Kun Agüero, and Arturo Vidal.

The Kings World Cup Nations will consist of a group stage divided into five groups, followed by knockout rounds culminating in the final held at Allianz Parque in São Paulo on January 17. DAZN will broadcast the event, offering free access in most international territories except France, where a subscription is required. To cater to a diverse global audience, DAZN will provide multilingual commentary in six languages, including Spanish, English, and Italian.

Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN Group, emphasized the company's ambition to become the global hub for football by embracing innovative sports formats. Djamel Agaoua, CEO of the Kings League, highlighted the league's rapid growth and its appeal across a broad demographic. Beyond the World Cup Nations event, DAZN will also serve as the main broadcaster for national Kings League competitions in Spain, Italy, and Germany from March to May 2026.
