Spain's Economy Minister Carlos Cuerpo has reiterated his firm support for implementing a work hour registration system, emphasizing a balanced approach that avoids imposing costs on businesses. This comes amid ongoing political tensions with Deputy Prime Minister Yolanda Díaz, who accused Cuerpo of opposing positive reforms such as the minimum wage increase.

In interviews conducted in Galicia, Díaz's home region, Cuerpo stressed the necessity of controlling working hours to protect labor rights, while simultaneously supporting government measures to help companies absorb wage hikes through tax exemptions and reduced administrative burdens. He defended the government's strategy as a collaborative effort aimed at fostering economic growth that benefits both workers and businesses.

Cuerpo also acknowledged the housing crisis as a significant challenge the government is tackling without quick solutions. He highlighted ongoing constructive dialogues with business associations despite political tensions and announced a 750 million euro financing line to support exporters facing international trade barriers from past tariffs imposed by the Trump administration.
