La Candelaria Health Center temporarily relocates services to Amate after roof collapse.

Key Points

  • • Health services moved from La Candelaria due to a roof collapse.
  • • The new Amate location is an eight-minute walk from the original center.
  • • No injuries reported; services continue at Amate during normal hours.
  • • SAS will evaluate La Candelaria's condition before reopening.

The Servicio Andaluz de Salud (SAS) has temporarily relocated health services from the La Candelaria Health Center to Amate following significant structural concerns, notably a partial roof collapse that occurred during foundation work. This precautionary measure ensures the safety of both patients and medical staff while health services remain accessible.

The new location in Amate is conveniently situated just eight minutes away on foot from the original facility. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, and the existing medical team, consisting of four family doctors along with nursing and administrative staff, will continue to provide care during their usual hours at the Amate center.

In response to this critical incident, SAS has requested a technical report to assess the condition of La Candelaria and outline necessary repairs for its potential reopening. The SAS has expressed regret for any inconvenience this transfer may cause residents, emphasizing its commitment to keeping the public informed about the situation as it evolves, while prioritizing the health and safety of the community.
