The O Marisquiño festival, marking its significant 25th anniversary, will take place from August 7 to 10 in the Samil area of Vigo. This celebratory edition showcases a vibrant mix of ten sports disciplines, with skateboarding and BMX taking center stage. Prominent athletes, including Brazilian skater Marcelo Batista and Australian BMX rider Ryan Williams, are set to participate.
Noteworthy additions to this year's program include an inclusive rap competition and a female-only electronic music stage featuring artists like Viviana Casanova and Cora Novoa, alongside DJ Valensk8. Kicking off the festivities, August 7 will be designated as Family Day, where children and young people are invited to partake in workshops and learn sports tricks. The event will also host qualifying competitions over the following days.
New to the festival are the Big Air competition, involving a 45% inclined ramp, and FMX (Freestyle Motocross) motorcycle competitions. The only event not hosted at Samil, the Urban MTB descent, will begin at O Castro and conclude at A Laxe. Maintaining its commitment to accessibility, the festival promises free entry for all attendees and will feature three freestyle rap events in partnership with Gallos del Norte, culminating with Freestyle People Day on Sunday.
