Palma to Host 2025 Supercopa de España de Fútbol Sala: A National Futsal Showcase

The 2025 Supercopa de España de fútbol sala is set to take place this week at the Palau Municipal d’Esports Son Moix in Palma, turning the city into Spain’s national futsal capital. The event was officially presented by Jaume Bauzà, the Balearic Islands' Conseller of Tourism, Culture, and Sports, alongside Jordi Horrach, president of the Federación de Fútbol de las Illes Balears.

Four top Spanish futsal teams will compete for the season’s first official title: Jimbee Cartagena, Servigroup Peñíscola, Movistar Inter, and hosts Illes Balears Palma Futsal. This year's competition coincides with the centenary of the Balearic Football Federation, highlighting the sport's long-standing development in the region.

The Balearic Government is supporting the event with an 80,000 euro subsidy, underscoring its commitment to promoting high-level sports during the off-season to boost tourism and raise the region’s international profile. Bauzà emphasized the importance of sports in fostering social cohesion and praised the combined efforts of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, the Balearic Federation, and the local club for organizing this prestigious tournament.

This event not only spotlights the Balearic Islands as a key futsal hub but also strengthens their visibility in national and international sports arenas, providing economic and cultural benefits to the region.
