Rafa Nadal and Marc Márquez Among Stars Honored at 2025 Premios AS del Deporte Gala

The 2025 Premios AS del Deporte awards ceremony took place at the Hotel Palace on December 1, recognizing top Spanish athletes and teams for their outstanding achievements. The gala, hosted by Aloysio Araujo, the General Director of Sports at Prisa Media, and José Félix Díaz, Editorial Director of AS, celebrated a broad spectrum of sports figures in an event that started at 20:00 with guests arriving from 18:30.

Tennis legend Rafa Nadal was bestowed with the prestigious Premio AS Leyenda, honoring his long-standing contributions to the sport. Renowned motorcyclist Marc Márquez also received the Premio AS del Deporte, as did athletes María Pérez in athletics and Alex Palou in motorsport. Team awards were given to the Spanish women's cycling team, the men's water polo team, and the women's basketball teams. Additionally, Iris Tió won for artistic swimming, Albert Torres for track cycling, and recognition was given to the Roig Arena.

Football held a special place with the Premio AS Trayectoria acknowledging legendary careers of Raphaël Varane, Jesús Navas, Fernando Torres, and Raúl González. Emerging athletic talent Ander Garaiar earned the Premio AS Promesa, and Paralympic tennis player Martín de la Puente received the Premio AS Paralímpico. Carolina Marín, celebrated badminton player, along with the Fundación Rafa Nadal, were honored with the Premios AS Deporte en Positivo for their positive impact in sports.
