A Coruña is set to host the VII National Congress on Waste Management of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RAEE) on October 7-8, 2025, marking a significant gathering in Spain's circular economy initiatives. This congress, organized by OfiRAEE with support from the Xunta de Galicia and MITECO, is expected to attract over 300 experts and stakeholders who will discuss vital issues including sustainability priorities, circular economy innovations, and the implications of new European regulations.

A prominent focus of the congress will be on the growing challenges associated with electronic waste, particularly in relation to the EU's Critical Raw Materials Act and amendments to the RAEE Directive. Keynote speaker Ángel García Castillejo, vice president of the National Commission for Markets and Competition (CNMC), will address regulatory frameworks affecting the sector. Andreu Vilà, president of OfiRAEE, emphasized that the event reflects a collective commitment to promoting sustainability and innovation within the sector, as well as fostering public-private collaborations.

In addition, the University of Cádiz will host a seminar titled 'Economía Circular en Acción: Experiencias y Aplicaciones Industriales para una Gestión Sostenible' from November 5 to 7, 2025. This event aims to delve into the industrial applications of circular economy principles and is part of the XXVIII Autumn Courses in Algeciras, coordinated by Professor Mª Rocío Rodríguez Barroso and sponsored by the Provincial Council of Cádiz.

Both events underscore Spain's proactive stance in advancing the circular economy as a necessary element of sustainable economic policies.
