Spanish Father Appeals for Government Help in Son’s Parental Abduction Case in China

Luis Macías, a Madrid-based businessman, has not seen his son Daniel for over 1,500 days due to a parental abduction by his ex-wife, Xu Wei, in China. Since July 2021, after Xu took Daniel from summer camp and ceased contact, Luis has struggled through a complex, irregular Chinese judicial system dominated by local biases and procedural conflicts. Despite multiple favorable court rulings that label Daniel’s removal as parental kidnapping, custody remains in Xu’s favor. Luis has also faced turmoil over his daughter María, who was briefly abducted by Xu’s family but later returned to him.

Luis has spent more than one million euros combating these legal challenges and urgently seeks assistance from the Spanish government and royal family to recover his son, who currently resides in China with an expired passport and no valid residency. He remains determined to exhaust all avenues for reunion despite the significant emotional and financial toll.
