ViX, the Spanish-language streaming service owned by Televisa, has officially launched ViX Micro, a new content format designed to cater to the viewing habits of younger audiences. ViX Micro features short, vertical microdramas optimized for mobile devices, aligning with the habits of a generation that primarily consumes content through social media platforms.

The initial offering includes six original series available for free on popular social media channels including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and X. To watch the complete episodes, viewers must access the ViX app. According to Rafael Urbina, president of Streaming and Digital at TelevisaUnivision, the platform is strategically positioned to engage younger viewers by meeting them where they are most active—on their smartphones and social media.

ViX Micro is not only about attracting new viewers; it is also seen as a conduit to the extensive content library ViX offers, which includes over 80,000 hours of on-demand programming and 80 live streaming channels. Urbina highlighted the company's commitment to adapting to modern viewing trends, stating that engaging stories will be released weekly, with over 40 original titles expected by the end of 2025, creating a rich lineup for mobile viewers.
