Football Coach Arrested in Málaga for Sexual Assault and Abuse of Minors

A 55-year-old youth football coach from Málaga, affiliated with Club Deportivo Conejito, has been arrested by the National Police on charges of sexual assault and sexual provocation involving three minor players aged between 13 and 15. The investigation began after the parents of one victim found inappropriate and affectionate messages exchanged between their child and the coach on a messaging app, which prompted them to report the situation to authorities.

During the police investigation, two additional victims were identified. One victim confirmed experiencing sexual assault including exposure to pornographic images, while the third victim was subjected to sexual provocation. It was also reported that the coach gave gifts to the minors, allegedly as a tactic to gain their trust.

Authorities seized the coach's mobile phone and also obtained the victims' phones from their families for forensic analysis. The coach, who had been training minors for three to four seasons, maintained a clean criminal record verified annually as required for working with children. Club Deportivo Conejito expressed shock and stated that no members had prior knowledge of the allegations. The club affirmed its full cooperation with the ongoing investigation and offered support to the affected families.

Police have not ruled out the possibility of additional victims as the investigation continues. The coach is set to be presented to judicial authorities soon. This case follows disturbing regional trends involving sexual offenses by youth football coaches, highlighting ongoing concerns about child protection in sport.
