Salvador Illa Remains Stable in ICU with Inflammatory Condition Suspected

Salvador Illa, the President of the Generalitat, remains hospitalized in the intensive care unit (ICU) at Vall d’Hebron Hospital in Barcelona due to a severe leg condition that began with pain and loss of strength. Initial medical evaluations, including angioCT scans and MRI, have ruled out critical causes such as stroke, vascular issues, trauma, and tumors. Doctors now suspect an inflammatory process as the underlying cause of his symptoms, though a precise diagnosis has not yet been confirmed.

Illa's condition is described as stable, and he has begun to show signs of improvement, including partial sensory recovery and the ability to drink water.
